Anne and I went to Aurora Airport to view a couple of WW II planes that were there, and people could actually fly in (for a fee). Unfortunately, this B-17 was grounded for minor mechanical issues that day. They got it fixed, and took off the next day for their next show -- but caught fire and had to make an emergency landing in a farm field a few miles from the airport. The plane was a total loss, but no one was injured.
